Payroll Administrator – Advisory Support

Job Title: Payroll Administrator – Advisory Support

Location: Remote (UK)
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile and detail-driven Payroll Administrator to support our growing Payroll Consultancy team. This role plays a critical part in delivering impactful advisory services by supporting payroll assessments, compliance reviews, and project implementation activities across a diverse client base.

You'll work closely with our Payroll Consultants to help businesses improve operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and optimise their use of payroll technology. As a system-agnostic firm, we work across various platforms, so adaptability and fast learning are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support: Assist consultants with payroll audits, health checks, and reporting documentation.

  • Multi-System Coordination: Manage payroll data across various platforms (e.g. SAP, Workdays, Oracle, Sage) to support system-agnostic consultancy services.

  • Efficiency Improvements: Help map and optimise payroll workflows, identifying areas to reduce admin and increase process automation.

  • Compliance Monitoring: Track regulatory updates and support the maintenance of client compliance records and internal documentation.

  • Project Assistance: Support consultants during client system transitions, vendor engagements, and implementation projects.

  • Client Onboarding & Admin: Prepare materials, manage document flow, and maintain structured project support for advisory engagements.

  • Data Quality & Reporting: Maintain accurate data sets and produce clear outputs to support assessments and client decision-making.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in payroll administration, preferably supporting multiple clients or systems.

  • Demonstratable comfort working across a variety of payroll systems, ie. system-flexible and quick to learn.

  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, deadlines, and compliance best practices.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, consultancy-style environment with changing priorities.

  • Familiarity with project support tasks, document control, and stakeholder communication.

What We Offer

  • Work with Experts: Collaborate daily with a seasoned team of payroll consultants and advisory professionals.

  • True Independence: Deliver client-first outcomes without influence from payroll vendors or software affiliations.

  • Dynamic Work: Engage with clients across sectors, systems, and project types – no two days are the same.

  • Professional Growth: Expand your knowledge of payroll systems, compliance, technology, and client service.

  • Remote Flexibility: Enjoy a work-from-home role with flexible hours and a supportive team environment.

  • Meaningful Impact: Help UK businesses modernise their payroll operations and make confident decisions.
